Parents,

Please forgive me for not being clear on the Magazine Cover assignment. On Monday of each week we have students write the assignments in their planners for the week. Since this is the first week we have done this, I can see that parents have not looked at the agendas or students have not shown the assignments for the week to their parents.

In either case I apologize that this appears to be too short notice for this first assignment/project.

With this in mind, I am going to announce tomorrow that students will  have over the weekend to complete this assignment. It will be due on Tuesday. On Monday the counselors will be in my Reading classes. I will return on Tuesday and collect them at that time. The finished products will be graded and posted outside the Reading room (332).

If you have any questions as to how the assignment is to be done, please e-mail me or send the questions with you child and we will address it either tomorrow or Friday.

I do not want students to get off to a rocky start, so I will give extra time for students to think about their ideas, discuss this assignment with you, and work with you at home for a couple of extra days. I believe this will enable the finished product to be better.

 Thanks for your understanding.

 Sincerely,

 Chuck Foster
