Online Learning Tips for Parents & Students

While we are temporarily online, here are some helpful tips to support your students.

  • Be sure you are signed up for Remind app so you receive important updates and communications from our school!
  • Create a workspace that is as free from distractions as possible in your home. Encourage movement and short breaks between classes.
  • Your students have online support and feedback from teachers to complete work independently. Encourage student with questions such as, "What activities did you complete today? What went well? What will you work on next?"
  • We don't expect you to be an expert in technology! Let your students lead the way - they are using a consistent platform for all classes (Microsoft Teams) and have used this platform in school regularly.

A HELPFUL TIP FOR CREATING ROUTINES
Students will follow a bell schedule while online. To begin their online day, students should login to devices, open the Teams app on their desktop, and find their first period class.

A HELPFUL TIP TO JOIN ONLINE CLASSES
Students will start each class period with an online meeting with their teacher to receive direct instruction. They can find the meeting in the Teams channel set up in each class or in the calendar feature of Teams in the lefthand sidebar.
