About Me
Who I am:
My name is Mrs. Berkenmeier. I teach 8th grade Social Studies on Team 8-2. This year is my seventh teaching at Lone Star Middle School, and I’m thrilled to be back to begin a new year with a new group of students.
Education:
I have a B.A. in Elementary Education K-8, Literacy Enforcement, and an M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Methods and Curriculum from Concordia University.
Why I love my job:
The best part of teaching Social Studies is sharing my love of the past with my students. History is full of stories of successes and failures we can learn from. I hope my students will grow to appreciate lessons learned by others and be able to apply the knowledge gained from those of the past to help guide them in the future.
